Baby Jake, Arlington VA

This was my second time at this family’s home for a newborn session. I love watching your families grow and it is the ultimate honor to be invited back to capture your family as you hit milestones and add new members. Mom, Dad and Big Sister welcomed Baby Jake on Thanksgiving Day – now that is something to truly be thankful for! I have a personal connection to this family as Mom (Kelsey) is one of my best friends! My daughter Mackenzie is just 2 weeks older than little Jake and we can’t wait to watch them grow up together. Mackenzie actually accompanied me to this session as I made a special exception during my maternity leave to capture these special memories for my sweet friends!

Motherhood is made up of a thousand fleeting moments. The way they reach for you without thinking. The way they fit perfectly in your arms one day… and suddenly don’t the next.

These portraits are more than photographs to me. They are reminders of what it felt like to be needed, loved, climbed on, held tightly, and be consumed by motherhood in the most beautiful way.
