7 Reasons to Book a Full Family Photography Session

I get it, you’re a mom with a lot on your plate. You try your best to get your family in front of a camera once a year for update family photos, but it’s stressful. Sure, mini sessions seem like a great choice, the less time your kids have to “behave” in front of the camera the better, right? … Well maybe not… there are a lot of reasons a full session may be a better choice for your family, here I’m sharing 7 Reasons to Book a Full Family Session.

7 Reasons to Book a Full Family Session:

1. Hand holding through the planning process

One of my favorite parts of working with my clients is the planning session. I love learning about your family and what makes you special. I love diving into locations and picking the perfect one for your family. Once the location is chosen it’s easy for us to talk about wardrobe and get into the styling. I am there for you every step of the way, offering continuing consult via text and phone call. I want my clients to feel comfortable with me and know that I am here to help!

    2. Full access to my client closet and personalized styling for the whole family

My client closet consists of more than 50 dress options for moms. You can check out all the options here in an online gallery. I also have a selection of adorable options for kiddos age 4 and under. For styling we always start with mom, you choose your favorite dress and then we will style the rest of the family to compliment you! Not to worry, I’ll cover everything right down to shoes and bows!

      3. Hair and Makeup included for Mom

No more running around, sweating, stressing over getting yourself ready on family picture day. I will send one of my amazing, trusted hair and makeup artists to your home to pamper you and make you feel your absolute best in front of the camera. I want you to love your photos and understand that loving how you look in them is a huge factor in that. Not to mention having your hair and makeup done is fun and something as busy moms we don’t treat ourselves to enough!

      4. Your choice of date and location

Unlike with mini or petite sessions where I choose the date, time and location, with a full session it is fully customizable. If you have a location in mind I am always open to working with your vision. I can also offer suggestions for great locations for family sessions in the DC area depending on where you live and your goals for the session. I am flexible on the date of the session given your family’s schedule and offer both weekday and weekend sunrise and sunset availability.

      5. A full hour to really pull genuine smiles and interactions out of your children

As a mom to 2 young children I am very familiar with the beautiful chaos children bring to a photo session. My focus during family sessions is the connection between your family. To encourage this connection I play lots of games and keep things moving. My goal is to capture genuine interactions and smiles during candid moments. Allowing a full hour for the session gives us time for this to unfold naturally. Part of the planning process focusing on your children, their personalities, likes/dislikes and how to best approach the session to keep them as engaged as possible!

        6. Flexibility and Creativity

With a full session we have a lot more flexibility. I am not super strict about keeping the session to 1 hour especially if beautiful interactions are unfolding in front of my lens! It also allows us to take breaks if your little ones needs to use the potty, have a snack or just simply need a reset. Given more time with your family I can get more creative with posing and we can make use of multiple scenes within a location allowing for a lot more variety in your final gallery.

          7. Custom Artwork Design

Following our session together, we’ll get back together for our virtual design and ordering appointment over Zoom. At that time I will reveal your full gallery for the first time with a beautiful slideshow. After taking in your images we’ll decide how you want to enjoy them. I have custom artwork offerings for every style and truly feel my work is not complete until you are holding artwork of your family in your hands!
